Valencia Basket – Dreamland Gran Canaria post-game quotes: Pedro Martínez
Liga Endesa Playoffs
Miguel Ángel Polo
"Defensively, we were quite solid throughout the game. There was a moment in the second quarter where we were a bit worse, but I think it was more on the offensive side. We played too much five-on-five and got out of our rhythm a bit. And they took advantage of that. Gran Canaria had a really strong stretch—they’re obviously a very good team with a lot of quality players.
There are very clear precedents that should serve as a reminder not to take anything for granted, and to stay calm and keep moving forward. We need to recover and go to Gran Canaria to play a good game. Knowing that if we play very well, we can win. And if we don’t play very well, it's very likely we'll lose and have to play a third game.
In terms of the competition, the point difference is irrelevant. It’s 1-0 and that’s all that matters. I’d even say it could work a bit against us. Especially at the start of the next game—they’ll probably come out at 200%, fired up by the point difference, which at one point reached 30. So right now, I think the fact that we dominated so much in the third quarter and early in the fourth could actually benefit them more than us"
